How CS.MONEY made card payments faster – and lifted conversion by 7 percentage points

By introducing Click to Pay through Ecommpay, CS.MONEY gave customers a faster way to pay without overhauling its checkout. Around a year later, Click to Pay accounts for 25% of all payments – and delivers a 7 percentage point uplift in conversion compared with standard card payments.

When everything else is instant, payments need to keep up

CS.MONEY is an online marketplace where users buy, sell and trade Counter-Strike 2 skins. The experience is entirely digital, so customers expect payments to be just as quick and straightforward.

Manual card entry can add friction, particularly on mobile or for returning customers. CS.MONEY wanted to speed up the journey without compromising security or rebuilding its checkout.

Making card payments simpler

Click to Pay reduced manual data entry and made card payments quicker while keeping customers within a familiar card-based experience.

The aim was simple: remove unnecessary steps and see whether a smoother checkout could translate into stronger payment performance.

It did.

The results

  • 25% of all payments are now made using Click to Pay
  • 7 percentage point uplift in conversion
  • Integration completed in just a few days
  • Minimal technical resource required from CS.MONEY

A small change with a measurable impact

Around a year after launch, customers using Click to Pay are more likely to complete their payment successfully. While CS.MONEY does not separately track abandonment by payment method, the overall outcome is clear: a simpler payment journey is delivering measurable results.

Live in days, not months

Because Click to Pay was introduced through CS.MONEY’s existing Ecommpay integration, there was no need for a major development project.

The integration took just a few days, with relatively little internal technical resource required. Ecommpay supported the team throughout, helping resolve technical questions quickly.

With Click to Pay, we went from the decision to implement the solution to launch in just a few days. This enables us to test new payment solutions more quickly and assess their impact on both the user experience and business metrics.

Making the existing checkout work harder

Click to Pay has brought the card experience closer to the speed customers expect from the rest of the CS.MONEY platform.

Customers adopted it quickly, implementation was light-touch, and conversion is seven percentage points higher than with standard card payments.

For marketplaces, gaming businesses and other digital-first brands, the takeaway is simple: improving checkout does not always mean rebuilding it. Removing even a few unnecessary steps can make payments easier for customers and work harder for the business.

For us, Click to Pay is a good example of how a relatively small change to the payment experience can improve convenience for customers while also improving business performance.
